The Emerald Road is an extraordinary olfactory journey that reveals an intoxicating jewel: Jasmine Sambac. It begins with the sparkling freshness of Bergamot, enlivened by Cinnamon, sweetened by Rose Essence, which announces the bright floral bouquet of the heart notes. Sambac Jasmine, opulent and seductive, composes with Orange Blossom and Tuberose, a seductive harmony of powerful white flowers, enriched with Ylang Ylang. The Route d'Emeraude

Spray: 50 ml

Created in 1924, “La Route d'Emeraude” by ISABEY was designed by Julien Viard, in a faceted bottle and jewel case, evoking the splendors of the Far East.
This perfume inspired by the paths leading to the Emerald Triangle (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia), with a touch of nostalgia inebriates with scents of jasmine Sambac and flowers white.

Many enthusiasts of the Orient have undertaken these paths in these distant lands and have experienced these sensations, captured today in this reissue of a mythical perfume.
The Cordoba leather effect, characteristic of previous versions of The Emerald Road, has been preserved. The perfume has been slightly modified.

ISABEY

ORIGIN

Baron Henri James de Rothschild comes from the English branch of this illustrious 7th family. This brilliant philanthropist, doctor of medicine, is passionate about the research work of Pierre and Marie Curie, which he supports. Aware of the commercial challenges of the booming luxury perfumery, Henri James de Rothschild understood that perfume was a specifically French way of life that was exported throughout the world.
It was with his support that the Paris Society of Rare Essences and Perfumes was founded on 5 March 1924

Isabey refers to the eponymous French painter and miniaturist whose numerous works had been acquired by the Rothschilds during the 19th century. A name with a beautiful resonance, refined perfumes presented in bottles and artistic cases, this is what was needed at all costs to be able to participate in the highly anticipated International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Arts in Paris in April 1925.

Celebrity perfumes

The phenomenon of perfumes of celebrities and muses of theater or cinema
does not date back to the present day. Isabey launches into the race with Parfum d'Yvonne
Printemps and Parfum de Sacha Guitry, two sacred monsters of the Parisian scene…
Then for Natalina Cavalieri, whose fame and legendary beauty interest the world of perfumers and cosmetics. By creating her Beauty Institute, Lina Cavalieri signed a line of skin care products under license with Parfums Isabey and her perfume which she named Monna Lina, a name chosen in reference to the famous portrait of the Mona Lisa by Leonard de Vinci.

The American years

In the 1930s, Isabey perfumes became more discreet in Europe, but made some beautiful productions especially for the American market: Tendres Nuits (tender nights), Garden of Love and even Prends-moi (take me).
From 1932, Isabey perfumes were purchased by the Parisian Society of Perfumers, then the Maison closed its doors against the backdrop of the world war.

A never-ending story

Acquired in 1999 by the Panouge group, the saga of Isabey Paris, legendary perfume house, still continues today:
the legendary eau de parfums are presented in a bottle and a box, both timeless relics of the past. The timeless and unique Art Deco bottle of Bleu de Chine and the sophisticated box of Trésor Caché have been ideally combined to create a contemporary design.

Profumo eccezionale! Sembra di essere dentro una pasticceria alle prese con delle girelle alla cannella appena sfornate! Si sente il burro molto chiaramente, la cannella, la vaniglia e il biscotto! A chiunque l’ho fatto sentire è piaciuto moltissimo!
Durata nella media, su di me direi 5/6 ore. Dopo resta solo un delicato sentore di dolcetto…

The fragrance itself is a 10/10. An airy whipped marshmallow-like dream. Perfect amount of sweetness and seems to really blossom on skin. Was disappointed though that the label was very crooked on the bottle, since I post photography of my bottles on social media.

Amo le creazioni di Matos, questa è la quarta che entra nella mia collezione. Sicuramente una fragranza impegnativa, non per tutti, ma che dà enormi soddisfazioni, soprattutto in inverno (per l'estate non la consiglio). Amyris è inoltre una profumeria seria, veloce, pronta a rispondere in via diretta alle diverse domande del cliente. Le 5 stelle sono giustamente ben guadagnate.

I had been waiting for and obsessing over this perfume for months. Thrilled to own such an enveloping and delightful fragrance!

Blueberry is one of my favorite notes but nothing, and I mean nothing, else out there compares to this. The sugar is only a supporting note, not the overwhelming sweetness of a dessert gourmand. Simply fruit forward, but done comfortingly well.

Longevity is a touch above moderate...around 5 hours on 3 skin sprays, 6-7 on clothes or hair.

I must say, I was stunned at how large the bottle is! Mega thick heavy glass, nice tight cap, generous atomizer spray when pressed. Shiny gold box, very old world feeling. Insanely quick shipping from Rome, which makes it even more precious to me. I was also quite pleased that they were able to amend my order and include the samples that I forgot to order with purchase, thank you very much!

Beyond satisfied customer, could not recommend more!
