COQUILLETE PARIS ARTEMISIA G.
Artemisia G. is a perfume dedicated to a woman, even if it was not conceived solely for women. This jus is a bridge through which one is "catapulted" into a seventeenth-century setting. We are in a workshop, that of Artemisia's father, the great painter Orazio Gentileschi. It was here that the passion of a young girl was born: Artemisia, which is also the name of a flower, present throughout the pyramid of perfume. The first notes of the jus refer to this place of training, where Artemisia's talent was not slow to get noticed. The entire olfactory pyramid is a sort of "interpretation" of chiaroscuro, a reference to the features of light and darkness typical of Gentileschi's painting. The perfume is also the celebration of the redemption of this woman victim of rape, who faced a trial and even suffered the horrors of torture but who managed to assert her reasons in an era in which it was practically impossible to prove the guilt of a man.
Artemisia Gentileschi was able to frequent environments that were the prerogative of men only, for this reason this extrait de parfum contains typically masculine notes, such as dark woods, vetiver. Artemisia, present in the top, heart and base notes, is instead the fil rouge of the composition and represents a real celebration of the feminine part of this artist, an ever-present perfumed ray. The first woman to be admitted to the Academy of Design Arts, Artemisia Gentileschi is much more than a mere symbol, she is a beacon for women of all ages and her example is today, more than ever, current, shining, indispensable.
