If the discovery of coffee is lost in myth - among the many legends we remember that of the Ethiopian shepherd Kaldi whose goats habitually fed on a berry with undoubted corroborating properties - there is however a widespread belief that the roasting process was introduced by the Arabs starting from the thirteenth century. Only at the end of the sixteenth century did coffee arrive in Venice and then spread throughout the West, soon becoming one of the most loved and marketed drinks in the world. Among the most appreciated varieties of coffee today is undoubtedly the one produced in Costa Rica. Cultivated in the Central American country since the end of the eighteenth century, the Costa Rican arabica variety is characterized by its rich aroma and persistent fruity and floral notes .
